Row Raiser 2019
Row Raiser . . . raising resources for the Defined Special Olympics Powerlifter Team.
On September 6, 2014, Sam Dancer and his staff at QTown Crossfit partnered with Area 11 Special Olympics to help raise monies for a few “special” athletes through the Row Raiser. Since then, this event has helped support countless athletes and has raised over $150,000 through nationwide Row Raiser events.
The concept is simple: Participants join together in teams of 5 to 10 and complete a 26.2 mile row (42,195 meters) on Concept 2 Rowers. With all proceeds directly supporting the Defined Special Olympics Powerlifting team and the Dancer Love Foundation.
- When | Saturday, September 14th from 9:30a to 12:30p
- Where | Defined Gym (3834 N. Broadway St. Chicago, IL 60613)
- Who | We encourage everyone to join. Come solo, join with a friend or bring an entire team. The day of the event we will all work together to form teams of 5 to 10. Sharing the work to “eventually” row a marathon. All levels encouraged to join; like building the Special Olympics Powerlifting team, this is also a “team” effort.
- Why | Special Olympics. Opportunities. Support. Strength. Lifestyle. Community. Your participation will open the doors to so many. Defined is building a Special Olympics Powerlifting team; the money raised goes towards uniforms, travel expenses, education, and equipment.
Thank you for your support.
